Auckland, New Zealand

On route to New Zealand we were upgraded for the first time in our lives - I know what you are thinking, they let them into business class! No such thing on Jetstar airlines we got upgraded to an emergency exit seat with more legroom oooh er. Although this did bring more pressure of having to learn how to open the door and chuck it out of the aircraft in an emergency, Kris would have been happy at the back with no responsibility.

After a few short hours and time change again we arrived in the land of kiwis and home to the rugby world cup which as you can see from the photo starts in 20 days and you cant move from seeing something related to rugby.

After not having an ensuite for about a month I splashed out on £37 a night 3 star hotel with our own bathroom, luxury! So we celebrated in kiwi fashion by buying a bottle of fine new zealand wine in duty free and necking it in the room before we went out to find food.

Auckland is a beautiful, small city so it is easy to sightsee on foot, we have strolled around the harbour, walked to the skytower and onto Albert Park and we are just getting used to the cold.

Tomorrow sees us hit the open road again with another campervan for a couple of weeks although this time I expect I am going to be a bit chilly at night.
