The License Plate Challenge

With some long journeys ahead of us we have stolen a car game from Laura and the kids to keep us entertained and that is trying to spot all the license plates of the US on our road trip.

We started in Hawaii with obviously Hawaii but also spotting cars from Virginia and California, we then spotted Florida, Oregon, Washington and a few Canadian plates in Vancouver.

But the game was really on as we picked up our rent a car today, now my bet was by the time we fly home we would see all the states, Kris less optimistic pointing out that some of the states would be really tough like Alaska and Maine.

After completing our first 8 hour journey today covering three states we have ticked off a whopping 32 out of the 50 states already with a couple of pics to prove it including our rent a car number plate which is Arizona.

So far seen: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.

Still to go: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Bring it on!!

You only mentioned the Canadian plates in passing, after so much effort on our part... is that because you couldn't spell Saskatchewan ??!!?

Scott you are bang on, can't say it or spell it! But just for the record we did see that one along with British Columbia, Quebec, Alberta and we saw Ontario yesterday.

Today we added Kentucky and Minnesota to our list!
