Return to Oz

After watching England scrape through their first rugby match with kari and our new kiwi family we caught a couple hours sleep before we made our way to the aiport at 3am. We boarded our 8th flight of our travels bound for Melbourne. After spending a few days in a beautiful loft conversion it was time to lower our expectations back down as we stepped into our hostel. As Kris tells me 'it does the job' we are in a great location south of city so can't complain and as soon as we ditched the rucksacks we jumped on the tram to start exploring.

We headed to St Kilda which is situated on the beachfront, had dim sum for lunch before taking a blustery walk along the esplanade. The weather was perfect for kite surfers as you can see from the photo there were loads of them on the water.

We then wandered to the shops before we met up with Rob and Debs friend Cathy who lives here. We had a fun night eating great chinese food before Cathy made a brilliant tour guide and took us for a night time spin around the city giving us a few tips for the next couple of days. We ended the evening going for a stroll by the river, through the Vegas style Crown casino and finishing off with awesome gelato.

Little did we know whilst we were touring Melbourne, Kari had not hung around making new friends in NZ when she arrived in Queenstown and spent the evening with the England rugby team. Lucky girl!!

It great to see Melbourne in your photos, enjoy the city. Miss the place from when I was living there in 2007. Great times!
