Half the World Away...

So we have racked up the mileage in the camper over the last couple of days, after Rotorua we drove south to Lake Taupo and spent the afternoon chilling by the huge lake with a great view of the snow capped mountains. On the way we stopped at Haku Falls which brought back scary memories of white water tubing in Shenandoah but this time I was safely on land! We also stopped at Craters of the Moon which was a nerve racking hours walk around an active volcanic field where steam is constantly pouring out of numerous craters. The last big eruption was 2002 and is apparently overdue another so as you can tell I was glad to get back to the campervan.

The next day we drove up into the mountains to Tongariro National park where we were extremely chilly eating our lunch surrounded by snow. Today saw us travel 4 ½ hours south to the capital Wellington. As you can guess from the title this is also our furthest point from home so just in case anyway is missing us out there, we have officially started the journey back. See you in about 6 months time!

We made another friend today the local campsite cat who decided to join us in our campervan and made himself right at home. All helping the cause for me to get a little pet when we return.

What is Kris doing to that cat???? (in the photo after the giant boot). I am not sure this is helping the cause for getting a little pet on your return.

Could you please take a picture of the front of the super camper van?
