The Great Barrier Reef

Today saw us set sail for a tour of the Whitsundays, after squeezing ourselves into wetsuits for the first time we had a couple of hours to snorkel straight from the boat over the great barrier reef. It was amazing to see the coral and so many brightly coloured fish, the time whizzed past, we brought a waterproof camera with us so hopefully some of the photos come out.

Then for lunch we headed to Whitehaven beach - apparently National Geographic named this beach one of the top 10 beaches of the world and it did not disappoint. The water was so blue and clear and the sand so fine and white and this time unlike Ko Phi Phi we pretty much had the beach to ourselves. We had lunch on the beach and then did our favourite pastime of chilling on the beach for the afternoon.

On the way back to Airlie we saw whales couple hundred metres from our boat before being brought back to reality and another night in the campervan.

it looks like a great place to visit, so i'm guessing this is one you would tell every one to visit.... i'm sure once you got back to the campervan you slept like babys...
