Hanoi Continued

After arriving back from our boat trip we went to see a traditional water puppet show in Hanoi, it lasted 45 mins and was the most random experience of our lives. Alot of the westerners did not last the 45mins we stayed out of respect however the funniest part of the show had to be when one of the puppets who was holding a candle caught fire and took a lot of dipping in the water to put it out.

Then we got up yesterday and visited Hoi Chi Minh's Mausoleum, unfortunately you can only visit his body between the hours of 8am - 11am which we were too late so we took lots of photos outside and saw the changing of the guards instead.

We then indulged in some ice cream from Fanny's before making our way to the Hanoi Prison also known as the Hanoi Hilton which kept the captured American Pilots during the Vietnam war. They had pictures of the capture of John McCain and his pilot's suit which you can see in the photos.

Finally we headed to the train station to get a 12 hour train down the coast to Hue, I was a little nervous as they only had top bunks left but I somehow managed to haul myself up there with photos to prove it!

Are you going down to Hoi An? IF so you must get a silk dressing gown (fitted).
